"Selena Mars has launched a promising career." Jack Smart, Backstage Magazine 2015

Selena Mars has been making a name for herself in the film industry for over a decade. She is known for acting in several films by director Abel Ferrara including 4:44 Last Day on Earth, where she appears in a scene with Willem Dafoe and also for ID Discovery's Stalked: Someone's Watching.
Currently SM is working as a Producer and Actor on several film and TV projects collaborating Academy and Emmy award winning talent. She has just completed her first documentary, a film she created with an all female cast and crew. This documentary is a look at a diverse group of women working behing the scenes in film and television. She is also the producer of Julia Belgrove, a feature film which tells the life story of a former Vaudeville star and her friendship with Charlie Chaplin.

SM also writes music and has collaborated with over a dozen Grammy winning producers and Multi-Platinum artists including Andreo "Fanatic" Heard (Michael Jackson/Beyonce), Chris Flam (Nick Cave/Public Enemy), Talvin Singh (Bjork/Madonna), Alex Elena, Josh Valleau (John Legend) and Derek O'Brien (Social Distortion). Several of her songs from these collaborations have appeared on soundtracks for both feature films and commercials.

Recently, SM had the opportunity to write and record new material with Bob Wootton (Johnny Cash's lifelong Guitarist/Tennessee Three member) at the historic Omni Studio in Nashville, Tennessee. Wootton played on classics such as Walk the Line and Folsom Prison Blues. This collaboration is the foundation for Light of Day, a film/music project conceived and written by SM. Producer D. Clark (Florence+the Machine/Franz Ferdinand) is also part of the collaboration.

SM turned 21 in NYC, 25 in London and 30 in Paris. Always an artist and performer, she grew up doing classical ballet and won several singing competitions. She appeared in her first feature film at 12 years old and performed at the White House at age 13. Doors continued opening for her when she was scouted in NYC and hired as a back up vocalist/dancer for a world tour with several top 40 acts (Lisa Loeb, Donna Lewis). When she was not on the road, her time was spent in the studio and honing her craft with renowned vocal coach Katie Agresta. SM also works with her speaking voice, doing voiceovers for brands like Almay and SiriusXM.

In the Spring 2016, SM landed an international advertising campaign for retailer TJ Maxx. She has been photographed by many celebrated artists including Bill Cunningham for the NY Times, James Porto and Hans Breder. Her image has also been published in books, namely 'Nude Photography Notebook' by A. Jenkins and 'Welcome to the City Baby' by Katya Moorman.

SM is dedicated to giving back and is involved in several charitable organizations.
